1. Acceptance of these terms

Using the service means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

The terms apply to use without an account as well.

2. Description of the service

SaveSmart compares the price of your shopping basket across supermarket chains, using the price files chains are required to publish under Israel's food-sector competition law (the Price Transparency Law).

The service is not a shop. There is no purchase, no payment processing, and we are not a party to any transaction you make at a chain.

The service prices a whole basket rather than a single product, and that is its entire point: one basket can be cheaper at one chain even when an individual item is cheaper at another.

3. User accounts

You can use the service without an account. An account is needed to keep lists and comparisons over time.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for activity carried out under your account.

A valid email address that you own is a condition of opening an account, and verifying it is required to finish registration.

4. Acceptable and prohibited use

Do not scrape, copy or redistribute the service's content at automated or commercial scale.

Do not interfere with the service's operation, circumvent rate limits, or attempt to reach another user's data.

Do not upload images or text unrelated to a shopping list.

5. Price accuracy and data sources

Prices in the service are a snapshot of the chains' files at the date shown beside every amount. They are not a binding offer and are not real-time.

The price at the till may differ — because of a promotion, a club price, a branch-level price, a change not yet published, or an item out of stock.

A comparison is shown only where a chain carries enough of your list. Where coverage is partial we say so beside the result, and we never fill a missing item with an estimate.

Where a price has not been updated for some time, we say so next to the amount rather than presenting it as fresh.

The purchasing decision is yours. The service gives a dated figure and names its source; it does not promise a saving.

6. Intellectual property

The price data originates in the chains' statutory publications and is not owned by us.

The design, code, comparison engine, text and brand of SaveSmart are the company's property.

The lists you create are yours. We process them to provide the service and acquire no rights in them.

7. Third-party services

The service links to the chains' own websites. Use of those sites is governed by their terms and policies and we are not responsible for their content.

Advertising shown in the service is labelled as such. An advertising label is not our recommendation, and it does not affect comparison results — ranking is determined by price alone.

We take no payment for a position in the comparison ranking, and there is no way to buy one.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, completeness of the data, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Subject to law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on a displayed price, including a gap between the price in the service and the price at the till.

Nothing here derogates from rights that cannot be contracted out of under Israeli consumer law.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your own screen. Deletion takes effect immediately; completion in the database happens within 30 days.

We may suspend or close an account that has breached these terms, and will give notice beforehand where we can.

Closing an account does not affect obligations accrued before it.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel.

Exclusive jurisdiction rests with the competent courts of the Tel Aviv district.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. A material change will be brought to your attention in the app before it takes effect.

The date of the last update appears at the top of this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated text.
