The supermarket chains we compare
Every chain here has prices we measured ourselves from the official files it publishes. The table shows what the same basket cost at each one on the day we measured, and each chain has its own page covering how it publishes, how often, and exactly where it placed.
Prices were taken from the full price files chains publish under Israel's price transparency law, on a single day, from one representative branch per chain.

What these numbers do not say
A point-in-time benchmark is good evidence, not a promise. These four limits apply to every figure on this page.
Measured on one day
Every amount here was measured on 17/08/2026. Prices change daily, and nothing on this page is a live price.
One branch per chain
One representative branch was chosen per chain. Catalogue size and prices vary between branches of the same chain, sometimes by a lot — so the figure describes the branch we measured, not every branch.
One basket, 50 products
The basket is made of 50 products that were available at every chain measured, and it is not a typical household basket. A different basket can produce a different ranking.
Published price, not till price
These are the prices the chain published in the official files. Promotions, loyalty-club prices and till discounts are not included, so what you actually pay can be lower.
Chains not yet included
These chains do publish data, but we have no measured prices from them. They deliberately have no page here: a chain page with no data is an empty page, and we will not imply we measured something we did not.
Shufersal

- A daily full file plus updates during the day, as the law requires, much like the shared platform.
- Why it is not included
- Shufersal publishes its price files on its own public portal rather than the shared platform. The portal is reachable, but we have not integrated it yet — so we have no measured Shufersal prices.
Carrefour

- A daily full file plus updates during the day, as the law requires, much like the shared platform.
- Why it is not included
- Carrefour Israel also publishes on a separate portal of its own. Same situation: the publishing is public, our integration is not built yet, so there is nothing to measure.
Hazi Hinam
- Publishes through
- shared publishing platform (Cerberus / PublishedPrices)
- Update cadence
- One full snapshot per day, overnight, plus update files during the day that carry only what changed since the snapshot.
- Why it is not included
- Logging in to the shared platform works, but the file listing comes back empty — zero files. With no files there are no prices to measure.
